Welcome to Manly Vale Range Association

MVRA is the governing body for the rifle range located at 1A Campbell Parade, Manly Vale.

3 distinct shooting clubs utilise the range:

     - Mosman-Neutral Bay Small-Bore Rifle Club (Thursday nights)
     - Swiss Small-bore Rifle Club (Sunday mornings & selected Friday nights)
     - Manly Air Pistol Club (Saturday mornings)

The range consists of a 15-lane 50m rifle range for .22 calibre sub-sonic rimfire from prone or bench-rest positions. This same range can be utilised for air rifle shooting whilst the 10m air pistol range runs across the 50m point of fire.

MNBSBRC welcomes all standards of shooters from all age groups.

We have competitive shooters that represent the club in the various competition shoots around NSW and Australia, right through to social shooters who enjoy the sport and the company of their fellow shooters but choose not to compete.

Our youngest member is 12 and our oldest is turning 88 this year.

Come along and give the sport of target shooting a try. We'll provide everything you need plus tuition and encouragement. We shoot on Thursday nights at 7:30. Sessions last about 2 hours in which time you'll get at least 2 rounds of shooting in. You'll need to bring along a completed P650 form (click here to download) or a current Australian Shooters License or Minor's Permit.

  • .177 calibre Air Pistol - This is shot indoors over 10 metres, with compressed gas pistols.
  • .22 calibre rimfire rifle - This is shot outdoors over 50 metres, with .22 cal sub-sonic rimfire ammunition. It can be shot in the prone position or from a bench.
  • .177 and .22 air rifle - At present, we don’t shoot these, but we have the authority to do so. With the rapid increase of pre charged pneumatic (PCP) rifles, this discipline will increase in the future.
